In the book, “Cinderella Cleaners Change of a Dress”, by Maya Gold, anything can happen! They have some beautiful clothes coming in and out each day and sometimes they never get picked up.  Diane, the main character in the book, works for her dad at Cinderella Cleaners.  A beautiful fur coat that was hanging on the rack for a long time keeps calling out to Diana.  Finally, she dares to touch it. She does it without being caught by the old cash register lady who watches them like a hawk and is always yelling at them.  She feels the soft fur and then in the pocket Diana finds a piece of paper.  There are two tickets to a Broadway production.  Her conscience is telling her to give them back to the owner of the coat, but when she tries to reach the woman, the woman’s butler tells Diana she is out of town.  Cat, Diana’s best friend at the cleaners, tells Diana they should go to the performance or the tickets will go to waste.  She ends up convincing Diana that they should go by telling her they will have an awesome time especially since she might get to see Adam, the main character in the play who Diana also has a crush on.  She is still worried that they may be caught, but with the help of Nelson, their co-worker, making their dresses and setting up a limo for their transportation, nothing is impossible.  The girls go to the Broadway play and attend the cast party.  They have the best time and Diana gets to dance with Adam.  When she gets home she is caught and gets grounded, but she still thinks it was all worth it.

One connection to the book is that I have been to New York and have seen a Broadway show. Another thing is that when I am unsure about doing something my friends can usually convince me to do it just like Diana did about the tickets.

My connections help me understand what Diana is talking about when she is at the Broadway play like how the theater is shaped and how the seats feel.  It helps me relate to how she feels when she has to decide what to do about the tickets.

    McKenna,
This sounds like an interesting book, I like how it is sort of a spin on Cinderella with the working girl borrowing a really rich person’s clothing and living that life for an evening, even complete with a dance!

This sounds really good and the title is cool. It sounds like it is sort of like cinderella!
